We are in Nanaimo today and did a bit of scouting out. We learned that the parking around the Newcastle Island Ferry is free after 5 pm on Friday, and all day Saturday. For folks coming in on the Vancouver-Nanaimo ferry that should be excellent news, and we hope it helps to mitigate the ferry costs.

Getting on and off Newcastle Island requires, as one might guess, a boat. The ferry runs regularly, and costs 8 dollars round trip. We will be ensuring that it runs a little later than normal. The details can be found at: http://www.newcastleisland.ca/index.php?page=14

On the invitations, we recommended a few places to stay in Nanaimo. At the top of the list is Buccaneer Inn, which comes very recommended. Jen and I have, thanks to my Dad, already booked a room at the Buccaneer Inn, and Dad has a couple rooms reserved that can be purchased off him for guests who don't have an easy way to book from afar. I finally got all the invitations mailed out. They should be arriving any day now if you haven't already received them. If you have any questions about anything please let us know.
Eric and I will soon get a wish list up here for wedding gifts as we didn't do a registry anywhere.

Jen and I designed and printed up 50 invitations the other day. They're fully ready to be loaded into envelopes and sent out for the first wave, for our friends and family who need a lot of extra time to prepare. We'll be printing another 50 or so within a couple months to send out to those who need less notice, but we're out of envelopes for now!
